Though in reading the conversation, it may be that what I'm looking for and what I'd like can't happen, that at this point not shouting has become so aligned in people's minds with being quiet and nice and not speaking up, which really honestly isn't at all what I mean. I just mean that I'm tired of people expecting me to be angry, only taking me seriously if I seem angry, and expecting me to take in their anger and process it when they haven't, and all of that. But I'm not sure there's any way to say that, that isn't problematic for people. I find it exhausting, myself.
As for the intersectionality, ironically I am MUCH more comfortable with talking about race and class than talking about feminism and gender and that sort of thing. I mean, I don't want to be token black girl mostly because I'm so nonrepresentative, but generally I find race conversations to be a lot easier to negotiate, personally.
